CONGRATULATIONS TO CHARLOTTE
| Congratulations to Charlotte Porter from Reeth who has been accepted on the Professional Dance Teachers' Course at Preston College. Charlotte began dancing when Janet Seymour's School of Theatre Dance opened in 2004. She has just passed her Royal Academy of Dance Intermediate Foundation Ballet, Imperial Society Intermediate Foundation Modern and Intermediate Tap exams as well as taking AS Level Dance.
Charlotte appeared in and was assistant choreographer for Mother Goose, at the Georgian Theatre Royal in 2010.
She has been dancing with the North Yorkshire County Youth Dance Company since 2009 and has been offered a place to dance at Disneyland Paris for a weekend performance.
We will miss her bubbly personality in class but wish her all the best in her chosen career.

EASTER DANCE
WEEK AND
GERMAN EXCHANGE STUDENTS 2011
10 Students from Janet Seymour's School of Theatre Dance took part in this year's Easter Dance Week held in Germany. The students had classes in Zumba, Hip Hop and Belly Dancing in Sim Aktel's Ballettschule near Frankfurt. They also enjoyed a river trip on the Main, a bowling evening, a shopping spree in the city as well as barbeques and outdoor swimming with temperatures of over 30 degrees.
Thanks go to the host families for making our stay so enjoyable. Some of the students visited the School of Theatre Dance last Easter and strong friendships have been forged between the English and German students. We look forward to welcoming them back again next year.

EASTER DANCE
WEEK AND
GERMAN EXCHANGE STUDENTS
The students from the School of
Theatre Dance, Reeth
have been hosts to eleven German children from Janet Seymour's former
school near Frankfurt in Germany, for a week of dance, being held at
the Memorial Hall.
The German dance students,
ranging from 10 to 15
years of age arrived on Easter Saturday for a dance workshop consisting
of Street/Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Cheerleading and Scottish Country
dancing, being held over four days.
Janet Seymour, who runs the School of Theatre Dance in Reeth
says she is grateful to the sponsors who have helped make this
possible, including, Harker's Coaches, The Thomlinson Trust and the
Reeth Artyfacts, as well as the eight guest families and other
donations.
The children left on Friday after a farewell meal held at the
Bike Centre in Fremington. Their teacher, Sim Aktel, also a former
student of Janet Seymour, says it has been a wonderful experience for
her students and hopes to invite the English dancers back to Germany
next Easter.
